We provide lessons for all guitar types and we have dedicated rooms just for guitar lessons. Our guitar teachers can take you through guitar grades such as Rockschool or tailor lessons to your needs. Whether your aim is to just be able to strum a few chords or become the next slash, we can help you get there.
Guitar Lessons for children and adults
We teach guitar to students of all ages and abilities. From six-year-olds to eighty-six-year olds we have all bases covered. It’s never too late to start learning the guitar.
Acoustic Guitar Lessons
The acoustic guitar is arguably the most popular choice when it comes to guitar lessons at the academy. Due to no external amplification being needed, the acoustic guitar is an immediate pick-up and play instrument. For beginners, the steel-string acoustic is actually the most difficult to learn on contrary to popular belief. This is largely down to thicker strings.
However, don’t let this deter you. We always advise learning the guitar that best suits your musical taste as whatever guitar you choose, your fingertips will be a little sore at first!
Electric Guitar Lessons
The electric guitar offers a slightly different playing experience to the acoustic guitar. It’s a far slimmer instrument making it a little easier to see where your fingers are going. The strings on electric guitars aren’t generally as thick as acoustic guitar strings which also makes life a little easier if you’re starting out.
The basic principles of playing are the same on both instruments. What makes them different is largely the music you’ll be playing on each one that’ll decide what techniques you’ll be using.
